I’ve recently finished « Conflict of Interest » (Portland Police Bureau Series Book 1) by Jae (from Ylva Publishing).Seriously I very deeply loved this novel despite the difficult subject of the book ...It’s a long novel but I never been bored … Jae has a very fluid and dynamic style, so, you can easily let yourself engross into the story which is well written. I’m a huge fan of cop stories so I haven’t been disappointed. The trial’s part was well turned too and all along the book you’ll find a bit of humor … I also liked a lot the way the romance between the main characters and then their personal intimity are built with a lot of patience and decency.

L'histoire est assez prenante. La construction de la relation entre les deux protagonistes est un véritable atout dans ce livre. Le livre présente, cependant, quelques lacunes et manque de profondeur sur certains aspects ; le déroulement de l'enquête et surtout du procès est véritablement improbable et manque de réalisme. Je comprends que l'auteur ait voulu éviter des longueurs et donner un peu de suspens et de rebondissement mais là, c'était simplement raté. La lecture reste plaisante et agréable et on a évidemment envie de lire la suite.
